Security & Trust
Trust is the foundation Mentalis is built on. Here is, plainly, what we do and what we will never do.
There is no advertising in Mentalis and no advertising SDKs inside the app. Your attention is the thing we protect — we will never auction it.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with data brokers or marketing networks. Data exists in Mentalis for one purpose: making the app work for you.
Focus protection never reads your messages, passwords, keystrokes, or the content on your screen. It only recognizes that an app you chose to protect is opening.
Protection rules, reminders, and routines are opt-in, visible, and reversible. You can disable any of them at any time — no dark patterns, no traps.
Crash reports help us keep Mentalis reliable. They are scrubbed before leaving your device: no journal text, no reflections, no emails, no tokens — only technical error details.
You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time. The process is documented, human, and honored.
The accessibility permission, honestly
If you enable focus protection, Mentalis uses an Android accessibility permission for exactly one job: noticing that an app you chose to protect is opening, so a mindful pause can appear first.
The permission is configured so the system itself refuses to share window content with Mentalis. The app never reads your messages, passwords, keystrokes, or anything on your screen — and never takes screenshots.
Protection is off by default, clearly explained when you set it up, and can be disabled by you at any moment.
Used only for user-enabled focus protection. Never for reading private content.
